THE BEST EDUCATION IS THE ONE THAT’S INTRINSICALLY REWARDING AND FUN.
The best education is the one that’s intrinsically rewarding and fun so that you enjoy learning more and come back to learn more, add to your confidence, and make decisions for yourself for the future.
This is what we, the Sanshiksha group of schools strive for.
We provide opportunities for learning and fun to make learning enjoyable, rewarding, and a joyous experience.
We provide resources to students on the curriculum that are easily accessible. This helps improve their memory while they learn the concepts taught in class. It also helps them focus during studying activities as well as in their free time when they have no computers or any other gadgets to check out on.
At Sanshiksha, we actively encourage youngsters to participate in various cultural and sports activities. This helps in building their soft skills, improves their self-esteem as well as instills a sense of discipline and responsibility.
We also provide life skills to the students so that they can face the real world with full confidence today and prepare them for tomorrow.
1st - 4th Class Course Curriculum:
- - Knowledge of alphabets, pronunciation, numbers
- - Sentence making
- - Language basics
- - Mathematics
- - Simple puzzles for developing cognitive skills
- - Working as a team for social togetherness
- - Different competitions
- - Prescribed books syllabus
This has been proven to be the perfect balance for a child to grasp concepts and skills with ease.
The course starts by teaching children how to read and write in English and Hindi by using learn-at-home tools such as workbooks, software, etc.
After they have learned these skills well enough, they will move on to learning math (1st Class – Pre-Kindergarten), science (2nd Class - Kindergarten), social studies (3rd Class – 2nd Class), and art which will be taught during 4th Class course. The end of the course has a contest where a surprise visitor comes and gives out gifts to the students. The day ends with all the students giving a presentation on their projects, instead of just an oral presentation like many schools.
AIM of the Course:
- - To teach students how to read and write English and Hindi by using workbooks, software, etc.
- - To teach students math (1st Class – Pre-Kindergarten), science (2nd Class - Kindergarten), social studies in 3rd Class – 2nd Class), and art in 4th Class course.
- - To teach social skills to the students that they'll need so they can become successful when they start school.
- - Having a fun day with others as friends. Everyone gets a chance at the end of the day for telling about their work or project for a surprise visit by guests and prizes are given out.
- - The day ends with a contest for all students. One student from each group or class tells about the project: poster, video, etc. They get an award because they did the hard and best work that day.
The learning materials used in Sanshiksha are designed in line with the relevant national curriculum.
WHAT IS THE TEACHER'S ROLE?
The teacher's role is to make sure that the students are all ready to learn. They lead, encourage, and inspire the students based on the learning needs of each child. The teacher is a guide who maps out a plan for each student, see to it that it works for each child, gives them time to learn about something new or practice with all their senses.
The teacher makes sure that all groups are getting their work done on time and at their own pace so that they fully grasp the concepts taught in class.
The teacher is an observer. He/she sees how the child learns by observing how they do the work, how they face the task, and how they look at learning.
The teacher is an examiner. They test the child on their ability to learn, assess their progress after each lesson or project, and clarify any questions that may arise within a group.
The teacher gives information about history, art, science, mathematics, and social studies to inspire students to further explore such subjects in their free time.
The teacher collaborates with the Principal, teachers of other classes to select/approve books for the class.
The teacher nurtures the individual growth of each child by encouraging him/her to participate in various extracurricular activities.
TEACHING AND LEARNING – AREAS OF CONCERN
Every child learns differently. Having a differentiated curriculum helps the child learn at his or her own pace. This allows them to take classes under teachers who are experts in their subjects. Children also benefit from having different classroom environments, both inside and outside of school, based on their strengths and needs.
WHY IS SANSHIKSHA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCHOOLS?
- We don't use the usual classroom for teaching children. Instead, we have separate classes for each subject that work in groups and learn from different teachers. This allows children to get more help from teachers who are experienced in their field and also lets them interact with others they might not normally have time to talk to or be friends with outside of school hours.
- We don't use tests and written work as a way to see how much the children have learned. When students will learn for the test, they get nervous and then forget what they have learned. So, we don't use tests or written work and only use projects to understand how much each student has learned. The main aim of our school is to make the child confident enough so that they can face the real world outside of school with confidence in whatever they do.
- Our courses are designed to develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills, using hands-on activities that involve all their senses and offer opportunities to explore their world through meaningful learning experiences.
- We encourage students to actively participate in various cultural and sports activities that build their self-esteem and instill a sense of discipline and responsibility.
- We provide life skills that help the child deal with any challenges or problems he/she may face in the future, including leadership, teamwork, social media for learning and getting work done, etc.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PARENT?
- Parents are the number one asset of the school. They can either be active learners who give suggestions on what could be done better or they can come to class with us on a day when they would like to be there, such as when their child is not feeling well.
- Parents are the people who support the school financially, by donating money towards materials or paying tuition and other fees.
- Parents are the ones who take care of their child when he/she gets sick, stays home from school, and does not know how to handle his/her feelings when he/she misses class.
- Parents can come to class with us on a day when they would like to be there, such as when their child is not feeling well. They can volunteer to help set up the programs, prepare snacks or serve lunch so that they can interact with other parents while they relax while their child enjoys the class.
- Parents are the number one role models of the children because they are always teaching them in their daily life that they do every day. If parents are positive, teach their children to be positive, help others and reach out to those who need help, share ideas and listen quietly when someone is talking because these are some of the qualities that a child needs to be successful in life.
